Jessica Beasley serves as Senior Vice President of Academics for Lighthouse Academies. In this role she assists the CEO in planning, implementing, coordinating, and communicating the educational programs of Lighthouse Academies to the cohorts of schools across various regions. She is instrumental in providing leadership in structuring educational policy, instructional planning, and oversight of academic affairs for the national Lighthouse Academies brand.
Jessica comes to Lighthouse Academies from Chicago, Illinois, where she has been a dedicated school leader both in the south and west sides of the city. She began her leadership tenure at CICS Washington Park as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and then moving on to become the Principal of the Middle School. Under her leadership, Jessica was able to create a strong sense of community among all stakeholders which attributed to the success of Washington Park’s recognition by the mayor for its high achievement and growth. Jessica was then recruited to join the team of LEARN Charter School where she became the principal of the network’s only middle school campus. Under her direction and with the help of her amazing team, the school achieved its highest rating ever.
Jessica holds a Master of Education from National Louis University with a focus on administration and supervision, and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Illinois at Chicago (where she also earned an endorsement in middle school mathematics). She also attended the University of Chicago where she received an additional mathematics endorsement that allowed her to teach Algebra to middle school scholars with the ability to earn credit during their 8th grade year.
