Deputy Director, Curriculum and Program
Amanda is a lifelong learner who is passionate about promoting student agency through inquiry based learning. Her years of teaching and professional development helped her grow a keen understanding of how to build conceptually based units of study. Amanda has developed her own project based learning curricula as an elementary, high school, and art teacher. She has also developed curricula and professional development for The New Teacher Project and The Relay Graduate School of Education. Most recently, she has led the creation and development of an independent school in Cupertino, California, where she supported the build out of the school's project based educational programming. Amanda has a BS in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University and a MEd in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. As a Chicago native, she is thrilled to help bring project based learning to traditionally underserved students and communities.
