Monica Rivera
Chief Executive Officer

Monica is an experienced operational leader, and strategist. She uses her experience to provide the strategic direction, financial sustainability, and optimization of human capital for Lighthouse. When working with our school partners, Monica serves as a consensus builder, change agent, and resource manager to ensure their success. Prior to her current role, Monica served in several roles within Lighthouse including Vice President of Operations, Director of Operations and Facilities, Founding Manager of Operations and Staff Accountant. Monica has a background in Childhood Education and brings over 16 years experience in Operations Efficiency and Management, specifically in Education. Currently, Monica is pursing a certificate in executive leadership designed to drive organizational innovation and growth.

Mansoor Mustaf
VP of Finance

Mansoor is responsible for all financial matters at Lighthouse. He has been in his current role since 2019, and has extensive experience in school finance, facilities, operations, and business development. Mansoor also draws on his past work in real estate development, hospitality management, and within the media industry to drive results for Lighthouse.

Amanda Funk
Deputy Director, Curriculum and Program

Amanda is a lifelong learner who is passionate about promoting student agency through inquiry based learning. Her years of teaching and professional development helped her grow a keen understanding of how to build conceptually based units of study. Amanda has developed her own project based learning curricula as an elementary, high school, and art teacher. She has also developed curricula and professional development for The New Teacher Project and The Relay Graduate School of Education. Most recently, she has led the creation and development of an independent school in Cupertino, California, where she supported the build out of the school’s project based educational programming. Amanda has a BS in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University and a MEd in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. As a Chicago native, she is thrilled to help bring project based learning to traditionally underserved students and communities.

Rosemary Paredes
Director of Operations

Rosemary supports the national team as the Director of Operations. Prior to joining Lighthouse, Rosemary was the founding Operations Manager for The Equity Project Charter School – Early Childhood Campus, Business Manager at The Equity Project Charter School – Middle School Campus, and a Flight Attendant for Jetblue Airways. Rosemary is extremely passionate about community building and reforming current educational policies. Rosemary is committed to empowering Black and Brown youth to unlock their potential as the next generation of leaders through her work in education management.
